Rinse the cranberries and discard any soft or bruised berries.
Add the cranberries to a bowl or jar, pour the orange juice over the top, and cover. Refrigerate for 1-12 hours.
Drain the cranberries in a strainer, shaking off excess juice so they're damp but not dripping.
Add 1 cup powdered sugar to a large lidded container, add the cranberries, and shake to coat. Add the remaining powdered sugar and shake again until every cranberry is fully coated in a white, frosty layer.
Spread the cranberries in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 225°F for 3–5 minutes to set the coating.
Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate. Enjoy cold!
Notes
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. They're crunchiest within the first 2–3 days. Re-toss in powdered sugar before serving if the coating looks damp.
Powdered sugar: Cornstarch-free (organic) powdered sugar gives the best flavor.
Frozen cranberries: Thaw completely and pat dry before soaking. They'll be softer than fresh.
Flavor swaps: Use apple cider, cranberry juice, ginger ale, or prosecco instead of orange juice.
